FARMING EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO TABANAN
Tabanan is known as the rice granary regency as it is the biggest producer of rice on the island of Bali. The trip takes around one and half hours driving time from Ubud. Tunjuk village of Tabanan offers insight into traditional farming and its unique community irrigation system. The excursion begins with a visit to a dam, witnessing the agriculture co-operative society, cultivating rice fields, seed planting and traditional rice cooking process in traditional kitchen. It is a thought provoking experience that explores century-old practices that guests are privileged to take part in. A delicious traditional Balinese luncheon is also served around midday. BOTANICAL GARDEN TOUR
This inspiring day excursion ventures to the village of Petang, which is some 800 meters above sea level where the air is significantly cooler. This area presents some fascinating agro-tourism sites due to its highly sustainable landscape. A variety of different vegetables, coffee, vanilla and other produce grown here certainly adds to the charm of this rural environment.
The trip continues into the central highlands of Bali to the Bedugul Botanical Gardens. Covering 120 hectares of plateau landscape, the park is blessed by an extensive collection of trees, native flora and 500 species of orchid. This scenic setting is a combination of dense forest with colour coded walking tracks and plenty of green lawn and shady niches to partake in a picnic luncheon.
On the journey back to Kayumanis, a brief stop is made at Taman Ayun Temple. This ancient complex, which is surrounded by a moat, is the Royal Temple of the once mighty Mengwi Empire. AYUNG RIVER TREK
This one and half hour trek will commence from the lobby where we will lead you on a guide tour through the local community and explore the surrounding nature of the tranquil countryside. The trek journey’s through terraced rice fields that are harvested by Balinese farmers and on towards the banks of the gentle Ayung River. You might possibly come across local villagers doing their laundry, bathing or just soaking their weary bodies in the river water after a day working the fields. The trek concludes in a distant part of the village where local artists have set up small galleries to display their own traditional paintings. It is possible to stop en-route to admire the artistry or purchase anything that captures your interest
HORSE RIDING
Umalas village is located around one hour drive from Ubud where there is the most comprehensive riding facility on the island with poolside restaurant and salt-water swimming pool. BALI QUAD DISCOVERY TOURS
Bali Quad Discovery Tours is located near Payangan, one of the oldest mountain villages of Bali. Only 15 km south of Kintamani, on the slopes of the mount Batur, and next to the Ayung river valley, it offers some views beyond description of emerald green rice fields on the steep Ayung slopes. This part of Bali is probably one of the most preserved parts of the island. Only one hour driving from all main tourist destinations, but yet so pure and authentic, and not yet touched by the influence of tourism. In the area one can find some of the most beautiful sawah (rice fields) on the island, without the presence of many tourists, as you will find in other parts of the island. Located northwest of Bangli town and it is one hour drive away from Ubud, Penglipuran village that lies 700 meters above the sea level has a unique village layout, architecture and tradition. The village main temple built at a higher land north of the village than villager’s houses descended until the end of the village. The uniformity of house compound layout, building shape and the material made for building’s wall and gates, all made of mud of clay, as well the sliced bamboo roof made unique amongst other village in Bali. There is a sacred bamboo forest with about 15 kinds of bamboo located north of the village

Keep your eyes open when you are driving and beware of motorbike. It is best to rent a car with full insurance as it will save time and money if you are involved in an accident. Always drive and ride on the left side

- Do not walk in front of people praying
- Do not use a flash camera or point you camera into the priest’s face
